About myself

My name is Cecilia Bruschi. I graduated in “Chemistry and material chemistry” in 2017 working on a thesis about the photochromic study of azobenzene derivatives under the supervision of Professor M. Venturi. Then I continued with a master in Photochemistry and molecular materials and I graduated in 2019 working on a thesis concerning the synthesis and the photophysical, computational characterization of cyclometallated iridium (III) complexes for optoelectronic applications (Prof. P. Ceroni as supervisor, Dr. N. Armaroli as co-supervisor). Nowadays I am a PhD student in Claudia Bizzarri’s research group. My project is included in the 3MET project, which is interested in the investigation of metals cooperativity in different research fields, and my project focuses on the study of multinuclear transition metal complexes for the photocatalytic reduction of carbon dioxide. In particularly, my aim will be the synthesis and the characterization of di- and trinuclear metal complexes that can be potentially used as photosensitizers in the previously mentioned photocatalytic system.
