The Seminar Chemical informatics for the digital revolution in science will be performed together with the “Digital qualifier” from the Digital Hub of Chemistry and Health. The hub is part of the de:hub initiative launched by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs with the aim of supporting digital innovation in Germany. The purpose of the hub is to drive innovation and start-ups in the field of chemistry and health and thereby accelerate the development of new business models and market-ready solutions. To that end it offers start-ups, scientific institutions and businesses a central platform for networking, exchanging information and cooperating as well as the possibility of establishing their own digital eco-system.

The aim of the Digital Qualifier, a format from SAPnext-gen and the Digital Hub, is to bring experts from corporates of the Chemical industry together with students to work on profound and real challenges in the area of research and development of that industry.

You will work in small mixed groups (students of chemistry and informatics) on challenges under regular supervision of experts. Renowned chemical and life science companies like BASF and Merck support the challenges. That helps you to get insights of “what is going on“ in the Chemical industry in terms of digitalisation.
